Need expert advice - recovery from android MTP mode
I acquired a galaxy s3 running 4.2 jellybean. The UMS connectivity mode (usb mass storage) is gone and it only comes up as MTP (and PTP). I am trying to recover off of the internal memory of the phone.

Google searching has told me that it's not possible to recover in this scenario because recovery software require the phone to be mounted as a drive letter, which no longer happens in MTP / PTP modes, and that Jellybean 4.1+ got rid of UMS (which would have mounted as a drive).
